The Yerette - Amerindian for Hummingbird in the West Indies.
Lovingly handcrafted in Trinidad, or by my Trinidadian hands, this yerette is modeled as a part of my 'namesake' series. 
 
If you look up Sapphire in the dictionary, not only is it a gemstone for the month of September, it is also an actual hummingbird. This yerette is fashioned after the beautiful irredescent blues and emeralds of that hummingbird, to remind you of its beauty as it flits from flower to flower, in search of the sweetest nectar. 
 
Measures approximately 3 inches long in body. Their beak is another story :)
